One minute you’re precious ThinkPad X61 Tablet is at your side, the next minute it’s gone!
It’s the ultimate nightmare, you’re at the Airport, in Starbucks, or you jump out of a Taxi late for your plane and leave your precious ThinkPad Tablet on the seat!
Can’t happen to you? Don’t believe it?
Well it can happen, and it does every day. There have been a lot of very high profile cases in both the UK and Europe recently of laptops being ‘lost’. A famous case in the UK recently made world headlines when an MI5 Agent (Spy) lost his laptop!
I have actually seen it happen. A few months back, sat in a Starbucks with a friend from a local ad Agency, a young guy approached the table with a map asking for directions. It was a perfect sting, he acted really strange, waving his piece of dirty paper around and leaning over the table, in our faces.
The next minute he was gone, and so was my friends Tablet PC!
With the advent of ultraportable laptops like the ThinkPad X series, X Series Tablet, and the super light ThinkPad X300, it’s become easier for thieves to skulk off with your notebook.
So what can you do to protect your ThinkPad?
Well, fingerprint security obviously helps. All ThinkPad’s come equipped with an Integrated Fingerprint Reader and 32-byte pre-boot password protection to help guard against external threats.

There is even an option to disable all input and output ports on the BIOS level, as a final layer of protection for your information.
Whilst finger print security is great and it does protect your data in case of loss, you don’t really want your ThinkPad disappearing inside some thief’s grubby coat.

The Doberman Laptop Defender has a motion sensor that sounds an alarm if somebody tries to run off with your X61 tablet, and all your data!
Both are available from Amazon at good discounts to the recommended purchase price.
