Hi James, the AMD Athlon Neo Single-Core MV-40 and Neo X2 Dual-Core are a better proposition than the Atom chip, broadly speaking. Do you have something against AMD?

Why don't you take a look at the ThinkPad Edge 13"? Its a stunner. We love the <a href="http://www.thinkpadtoday.com/category/thinkpad-edge" rel="nofollow">ThinkPad Edge 13"</a> with AMD and Intel processors.

It's now October and still no X100 with an Intel processor. Perhaps Lenovo thinks the Atom's relatively low performance would devalue the ThinkPad brand and Arrandale CULV's would compete too closely with the X2xx. A pity. An N475-based X100 with 3-cell battery would probably be my ideal netbook for Word/Excel/email use...

Great argument for HDMI on the ThinkPad X100e Nick. OK Lenovo, David Hill, Matt Kohut, you listening? The X100e does need a better battery and if you can implement HDMI on <a href="http://www.ideapadtoday.com/the-lenovo-skylight-and-ideapad-u1-hybrid-are-still-kicking-anticipating-the-release-of-the-new-google-android-operating-system.htm" rel="nofollow">Skylight</a>, why not the X100e?

Well, I'm not alone there advocating HDMI or at least USB3.0 on X100e. Yes, it may be aimed at Enterprise customers but the umph that it provides above mainstream netbooks and the quality makes it a top choice for those wanting a little more than a netbook. Besides, today most connections to screens for presentations are via HDMI and if one wants to provide more than just a quiet presentation, things can be challenging. For the regular crowd, being able to play HD content on this machine is basic and HDMI can enable that.

A simple search on the web shows that all x100e reviews state (besides poor battery performance) that this machine would be complete with an HDMi port. I just ordered mine today based on your input above but I would not hesitate to buy another once they enable it with an HDMI port and prolonge the battery life.

Nick, we don't know for certain whether or not Lenovo is considering adding HDMI or USB3.0 to the ThinkPad X100e. Our best guess would be not for HDMI, and maybe for USB3.0. What Lenovo does, and quite rightly so, is add in features that the customers want. As the ThinkPad X100e is aimed squarely at the enterpirse, HDMI may not be an in demand feature.

However, we have been wrong before! As this site is visited by a lot of the Lenovo engineers, why don't you make a case for both of these features to be added in the next iteration of the X100e Nick? The stage is all yours!
