Lenovo IdeaPad S10 versus Acer Aspire One update. PCWorld magazine crowns the Lenovo S10 the Netbook winner in a recent Lenovo S10 review.
In our opinion the most important function of any notebook or laptop is its usability and practicality. And the smaller the form factor, the more important that becomes.

Lenovo have a superb record of making small form factor laptops in the ultraportable category with the award winning ThinkPad X200 and ThinkPad X301, but with the Lenovo S10 Netbook, they have excelled themselves.
The IdeaPad S10 is just simply outstanding from a usability point of view. The IdeaPad s10 and the Acer Aspire One are about the same size, but with its 10.2” screen with 1024 x 600 resolution, it edges out in front straight away.
With its impressive performance, 160 GB Hard Drive options, and great graphics performance from the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950.
The Atom Processor will never compete with the Centrino 2 platform, but it’s not intended to. Netbook’s are for communications on the move, but where the Lenovo S10 does stand head and shoulders above the current crop of Netbook’s is its ability to run Office tasks when you need to.
Downsides? A couple really. The mouse buttons are a little ‘clicky’, the keyboard is not as good as those we are used to on Lenovo ThinkPad’s but its very good in the Netbook class. Audio, like most Netbook’s seems a little weak because of speaker size limits, but take a pair of Ear Buds with you and sound vastly improves.
All in all, the IdeaPad S10 is a serious little mobile companion. It’s the fastest Netbook right now and just looks very good as well. With the new ‘Instant On’ features and the introduction VeriFace Technology for fast logon and mobile security the Lenovo S10 is the Netbook to buy.
