When the Lenovo ThinkPad SL400 earns the number one spot in a PCWorld Review of Top 10 all purpose laptops, you know it’s a great buy. We love the ThinkPad SL Series and raved about both the ThinkPad SL400 and the SL 500 in our reviews when this sleek new ThinkPad was launched back in July.

PCWorld also gave another Lenovo machine, this time the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 the number 3 slot, and that’s also a machine that we love with its great build quality and consumer features.
About the only thing that PCWorld got wrong in the SL400 review was the price. They quote the SL400 at $1223, well with the current SL400 Coupon Code we can get it down to around the $864 mark!!
Lenovo have done a superb job with the raft of features giving the SL400 a balance between business and multimedia functions at a really great price.
The ThinkPad SL Series features the new 35-nanometer Intel Core 2 Duo process with 1066MHz, depending on the CPO model. According to the specs, it will also offer, with the lower end model, 800 MHz FSB Core 2 Duo CPUs.
When Lenovo designers put the original design down they had cost in mind without compromising features. They also wanted to design a Notebook specifically with the Small to Medium Business (SMB) owner in mind so this is more than just a budget notebook with the basic features.

The SL400 comes with Intel GMA X4500 integrated graphics or the NVIDIA GeFore 9300M 256 MB dedicated GPU, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, up to 320GB hard drive, and the optional Intel Turbo Memory 2GB module for better system responsiveness, as well as CD-RW/DVD Combo, DVD burner or Blu-Ray burner.
The 14.1-inch display has a resolution of 1280-by-800 or 1440-by-900 pixels, and a glossy or mate coating, depending on your preference, and the screen is superb.
The ThinkPad SL400 has optionally integrated web camera and fingerprint reader, four USB ports, a PC Card slot supporting 34mm ExpressCard via adapter, Secure Digital slot, Firewire port, and VGA and HDMI outputs.
Networking features include the latest Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100ABGN module supporting 802.11n standard or an 802.11a/b/g module, a Gigabit Ethernet port, Bluetooth, and mobile broadband support in select models.
Where the SL Series really do stand out is when you have finished work. With the optional Blu-ray drive, great audio and the HDMI output, the SL400 turns into a great mobile entertainment notebook after hours.
Buy one now, before Lenovo change their mind on that price!
