So if you’re trying to minimize your carbon footprint, consider the ThinkPad L412 or the L512; you won’t be disappointed. Spending $599 has never been so environmentally friendly!

Intel Power.

Powered by Intel’s Core i3 and i5 processors, the Lenovo ThinkPad L412 and L512 prove that saving the planet doesn’t mean sacrificing quality or power. The processors are paired with a minimum of 2GB of RAM, but if you plan on running memory-intensive programs and multiple software packages simultaneously you can opt for up to 8GB. The best part of all this power is the fact that despite the impressive capability, both machines are EnergyStar certified.

To store and access your data, the Lenovo ThinkPad L412 ThinkPad L512 come with large hard drives and a fast optical drive. For data and software storage, both machines are available with at least 250GB hard drives, which are upgradeable to 500GB. For those in need of speedy access, there’s also a 60GB or 128GB solid-state drive. The integrated optical drive to make sure that you can access data, burn DVDs, and – if you want to take a break – watch a movie or two.

Low Voltage Display

The displays on both the Lenovo ThinkPad L412 and the L512 are low-voltage units, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to reducing energy needs. The L412 is outfitted with a 14-inch HD LED-backlit display with a native resolution of 1366×768, while the L512 comes with a 15-inch display with the same resolution. Both feature advanced anti-glare technology, reducing the need to spend more energy consumption with the backlight.

L Series, Classic ThinkPad

The matte black finish of the keyboards on the Lenovo ThinkPad L412 and L512 are classic ThinkPad, proving once again that protecting the environment can be done with little changes. True to ThinkPad’s history, the keyboard is superb to use with the iconic center-mounted red TrackPoint. The TouchPad onboard is a bit small for those with large fingers, but the pad is sensitive and the buttons are well placed. The coolest part is the multi-touch technology, which allows you to zoom, scroll and much more with the touch of your fingers.

To stay connected there are integrated Ethernet and wireless cards and there are expansion slots for Wireless Broadband and 4G cards. When you want to use peripherals you can take advantage of Lenovo’s incorporation of four USB ports, an eSATA slot, and a MiniDock Expansion slot. Even the battery on the Lenovo L-Series is green, featuring up to eight hours of life on a single charge, all dependent on a series of power control options that you determine.

The design of both Lenovo ThinkPad L-series laptops are true ThinkPad – black matte hard-shell cases wrapped around rigid alloy frames.

If you’re a business owner or a manager in search of the best green technologies today, look no further than the Lenovo ThinkPad L412 and L512. Not only are these machines powerful and economical, but they’re the most energy efficient on the market and they’re built with recycled materials. True green machines

this seems the same as the SL both of which are not Truepads
Understand that these are not real ThinkPads. They sort of look like one (though not really, with the glossy lid) but they don’t have lot of the features common to other ThinkPads

    No magnesium case
    No bottom roll cage
    No top roll cage
    No ThinkLight
    No lid latches
    No Ultrabay

and the BIOS identifies the laptop as an IdeaPad, not a ThinkPad.
This last part isn’t going to be an issue for most people, but it’s proved a real headache for those trying to run Linux. Other ThinkPad models are made to be Linux-friendly.

Got something to say?
