New ThinkPad R510 and ThinkPad R410 to be released late January early February? Now that the dust has settled around the ThinkPad T410/T510 launch, we can now concentrate on the forthcoming release of the new ThinkPad X201/X210 and ThinkPad X201/X210 Tablet which should be with us during the last 10 days of February 2010.

Whilst we have all been a little confused about the naming convention we are pretty sure that the new X Series will be X201, X201s and X201 Tablet as per the X300/X301.
Update: We just had confirmation that the new ThinkPad X Series launch has now been put back to the 1st March from the originally proposed 23rd February.
We have absolutely no idea on ThinkPad X201specification as yet. Lenovo is being very tight lipped about processor options. What we can tell you is that a ThinkPad X201 Tablet was seen on the Intel stand at CES with an i7 ULV Processor, and yes, it does have a TouchPad!

What is really intriguing us is the rumor of an imminent ThinkPad R510 and ThinkPad R410 with a Calpella and Intel Core i5 and i7 processor refresh! And yes we have seen this in print, but don’t ask where. If is true that Lenovo is about to release a new updated version of the ThinkPad R Series as a ThinkPad R410 and R510, just how does that fit into the current model strategy?
Update: The ThinkPad R510 and the ThinkPad 410 have now disappeared from the launch schedule that we see, so maybe it was a smoke screen? We will keep you informed R Series fans.
With the new ThinkPad Edge Series and the ThinkPad SL Series the ThinkPad end user has an abundance of choice at the SMB and budget end of the scale.
And how about those new ThinkPad SL Series notebooks? Well we have just had the SL410 and SL510 refresh, but we have it on very good authority that the ThinkPad SL420 and SL520 will be forth coming in late June. Watch this space ThinkPad rumor mongers. We always bring you the juicy news first.

The R series is going to be re-launched as an L series.
