It looks as though Lenovo is about to release the new ThinkPad SL410 and the ThinkPad SL510 along with a newly designated L410 and L510 model line up in the USA. The new ThinkPad SL:410 and SL510 gets to the starting blocks 4 months before the new ThinkPad T410 and T510.
Right now over at Lenovo on the ThinkPad SL Series page only the ThinkPad SL500 is featured, so this is a sure sign that a new model is about to appear. Our bet? Within 10 days from date of this post!
Both the new ThinkPad L Series and the new SL410 and SL510 notebooks have been released in China. The 14-inch ThinkPad L410 and SL410, and the 15.6-inch ThinkPad L510 and SL510 notebook series are imminent. Both feature HD capable displays.
The ThinkPad L410/510 and SMB SL410/510 notebooks laptops offer options of the Intel Core 2 Duo or Celeron processors, the Intel GMA 4500M or 4500MHD Series integrated graphics which provides improved HDTV connectivity with integrated HDMI and DisplayPort supporting up to 1080P. Select ThinkPad SL410/SL510 and L410/L510 models will offer the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series Graphics chips as an option which should provide superb HD and BluRay playback and a richer visual experience when watching movies, viewing images and playing games.
The new ThinkPad SL410/SL510 and L410/510 have the ability to switch from dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 to integrated Intel GMA 4500M or 4500MHD graphics to conserve power when on the move. The new ThinkPad SL/L series will support up to 4GB of RAM, with up to 500GB SATA HD, DVD Multi Drive or Blu-ray optical drive.
Connectivity options include 802.11n WiFi, optional mobile broadband connectivity, and a fingerprint reader in select models.Battery life should be good with Lithium Polymer 4 cell and Lithium Ion 6 cell or 9 cell options being available.
With a further refresh of the SL Series in January/February 2010 on the roadmap with the SL420 and the SL520 with the Capella platform, it looks like we could have some interesting options with the ThinkPad SL Series over the next 6 months.

Hi,
I am huge fan of IBM turned Lenovo Thinkpad. I am planning to buy it and i personally feels that Thinkpads are much more better in looks & performance then other Notebooks. At the same time, i usually found much cheaper Notebooks then Lenovo.
Kindly suggest why should i prefer SL410.
